Untitled India, 2012
Formed in response to a travelling experience around the North and South of India, ‘Untitled India’, 2012 explores the relationship between the
natural land and its inhabitants, through a notion that the landscape acts as a bridge between the reality of the everyday and the spiritual
escapism of religion found within the Indian culture. The landscapes are digital constructions that form a landscape of own interpretation
and personal response of the experience of a traveller, as an outsider looking in.
The landscapes asks the viewer to suspend their disbelief, immersing themselves within the fantastical locations presented, challenging their
trust in own judgement as to what they believe to be of reality and what they believe to be of fiction.
Colourless
Colourless is a continued collection of black and white photography that drifts between the aesthetics of 35mm analogue film and that of
contemporary digital manipulation. The focus of the collection is one of form and motion, often with a sense of historical reference within the
compositions expressed.
From double exposures of a Parisian Hollywood Glamour to a 50's Noir Femme Fatale film still, an image of melodramatic Renaissance inspired
nudes to the nostalgic grain of a travellers snap shot. Each image speaks of personal intrigue and influence of the past from that of art history to a
moment of personal memory.
