The constructed photographic image is a style that has advanced within her work, drawing upon elements of both a surreal and often cinematic
aesthetic.
Conceptually, her personal work maintains an approach of asking her audience to suspend their disbelief in response to the constructed image
presented before them.
As a result through digitally designed and manipulated imagery, the audience are often forced to challenge their own judgment as to what they
believe to be of a reality and what they do not believe is of a truthful existence.
Bettinson works closely with manipulation of both digital photography and 35mm analogue film. Drifting from cinematic, dramatic fashion
influenced portraits, to highly digital constructed landscapes.
